Author Guidelines

1. Submission Overview

The International Journal of Advanced Science Computing and Engineering (IJASCE) accepts original, high-quality research that applies computing, artificial intelligence, computational methods, and engineering approaches to scientifically and practically relevant problems. Submissions must fall within the journal's Focus and Scope, present a clear scholarly or technical contribution, and provide sufficient methodological and empirical evidence to support their conclusions.

All manuscripts must be written in clear, professional English and must not be under consideration by another journal at the time of submission. Manuscripts must not have been formally published previously, except where prior dissemination is permitted under the journal's Repository and Self-Archiving Policy. Authors must disclose any relevant preprint or other publicly available version of the submitted work.

IJASCE uses a single-anonymous peer review process. Reviewers have access to the identities of the authors, while reviewer identities remain confidential to the authors. Further information is available in the journal's Peer Review Process.

2. Article Types Accepted

IJASCE currently considers the following article types:

  • Original Research Articles that report original empirical, experimental, computational, or engineering research.
  • Applied Research and Design Studies that develop and systematically evaluate computing or engineering solutions to defined problems.
  • Comparative and Benchmarking Studies that rigorously compare algorithms, models, systems, architectures, or engineering methods using appropriate evaluation criteria.
  • Simulation and Modeling Studies that develop, validate, or apply computational models or simulations to investigate scientific or engineering problems.

IJASCE does not currently accept review articles, short communications, case reports, opinion articles, or manuscripts that primarily describe routine software development, hardware assembly, system installation, or the direct application of established methods without sufficient scientific investigation or identifiable scholarly contribution.

3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should generally follow an IMRAD-based structure and must comply with the current IJASCE article template. The structure should be appropriate to the research design and should normally include the following elements:

  • Title. The title should be concise, informative, specific to the research, and free from unnecessary abbreviations.
  • Abstract. The abstract should normally contain 150–250 words and provide a concise account of the research problem or purpose, methods, principal findings, and main conclusions. It should accurately represent the content of the manuscript.
  • Keywords. Authors should provide 3–6 specific and searchable keywords that adequately represent the subject of the manuscript.
  • Introduction. The introduction should establish the research context, relevant state of knowledge, research gap or problem, rationale for the study, research objective or research question, and the principal contribution of the work.
  • Related Work or Literature Context. Relevant previous research should be critically discussed to establish how the study relates to existing knowledge. The literature discussion may be presented as a separate section or integrated into the Introduction where appropriate.
  • Methods. The methods must provide sufficient information to allow readers to understand, evaluate, and, where feasible, reproduce the study. Authors should describe the research design, data or datasets, experimental or simulation procedures, algorithms, models, software, hardware, evaluation criteria, statistical or analytical methods, and other relevant procedures.
  • Results. The results should present the findings accurately and logically. Tables, figures, performance measures, statistical results, computational outputs, or other evidence should be used where appropriate without unnecessary duplication.
  • Discussion. The discussion should interpret the results in relation to the research problem and relevant literature, explain the significance and implications of the findings, compare them with previous research where appropriate, and address important limitations.
  • Conclusion. The conclusion should directly reflect the evidence presented in the study, identify the principal contribution, and, where appropriate, discuss implications or justified directions for future research. Claims should not extend beyond the evidence generated by the study.
  • Acknowledgments. Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, facilities, or other forms of assistance that contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship.
  • Author Contributions. Authors must transparently identify their contributions to the work in accordance with the journal's Authorship and Contributorship Policy.
  • Funding. Authors must disclose all financial and material support for the research and publication. If no external funding was received, this should be stated.
  • Conflicts of Interest. All authors must disclose relevant financial and non-financial competing interests. Authors must state when no competing interests exist.
  • Data Availability. Authors must provide a Data Availability Statement explaining where supporting data can be accessed or, when data cannot be shared, the reason for the restriction.
  • Ethics Statement. Research involving human participants, identifiable personal information, animals, or other activities requiring ethical oversight must provide the applicable approval, consent, registration, or exemption information.
  • AI Use Disclosure. Authors must disclose reportable use of artificial intelligence tools in accordance with the journal's AI Tools Usage Policy.
  • References. References must be accurate, relevant, and sufficient to support the manuscript. Authors should preferentially cite original and authoritative sources and include current literature where it is relevant to the study. References must follow the citation and reference format specified in the current IJASCE article template. Authors must not manipulate citations or add references solely to increase citation counts.

4. Formatting and Template

All manuscripts must be prepared using the current official IJASCE article template. The current template is available here: Download the IJASCE Article Template.

Authors must follow the formatting, section organization, typography, citation style, figure and table requirements, and other technical instructions provided in the current template. Where information on this page and the current template concerns manuscript formatting, authors should follow the current template.

  • Submit the editable manuscript in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Figures and tables must be numbered, appropriately captioned, cited in the text, and presented at sufficient quality for scholarly publication.
  • Equations should remain editable and should be numbered when referenced in the text.
  • Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material when permission is required.

5. Originality, Plagiarism, and Text Overlap

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using similarity-detection software. A similarity percentage is a screening indicator and does not, by itself, establish plagiarism or determine whether a manuscript will be accepted or rejected.

Editors evaluate identified overlap according to its nature, extent, location, source, attribution, and relevance to the originality of the manuscript. IJASCE distinguishes plagiarism from text recycling and redundant or duplicate publication. Limited legitimate overlap, particularly in descriptions of established methods, will not be assessed in the same manner as unattributed copying of another author's work or duplication of previously published results.

Suspected plagiarism, inappropriate text recycling, redundant publication, data duplication, or other forms of publication misconduct will be assessed in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics policies and relevant COPE guidance. Authors may be asked to provide clarification, revise overlapping material, provide appropriate attribution, or address other concerns before editorial consideration continues. Serious cases may result in rejection or appropriate post-publication action.

6. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

Authors may use artificial intelligence tools only in accordance with the journal's AI Tools Usage Policy. AI systems cannot qualify as authors because they cannot assume responsibility or accountability for published scholarly work.

Authors remain fully responsible for all submitted content, including text, analyses, code, figures, interpretations, citations, and other material produced or assisted by AI tools. Authors must independently verify the accuracy, validity, originality, and appropriateness of AI-assisted output.

Reportable or substantive use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation, data analysis, coding, visualization, or other research activities must be transparently disclosed in accordance with the journal's AI policy. Routine tools that perform basic spelling, grammar, or reference-formatting functions do not require disclosure unless otherwise specified by the journal.

Authors must not use AI tools to fabricate, falsify, or manipulate data, results, images, citations, references, ethical documentation, authorship information, or other elements of the scholarly record. AI-generated references must not be cited unless the authors have independently verified that the cited sources actually exist and accurately support the relevant claims.

7. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the IJASCE online submission system. Authors should consult the journal's Submission page and complete all required submission steps.

The submission must include the following:

  • The manuscript in editable .doc or .docx format prepared using the current IJASCE template.
  • A cover letter briefly explaining the research problem, principal contribution or novelty, relevance to IJASCE, and confirming that the manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
  • Complete author names, affiliations, contact information, and authorship or contributorship information.
  • A conflicts of interest declaration.
  • A funding statement.
  • A Data Availability Statement.
  • Ethics approval, informed consent, consent for publication, trial or study registration, or other ethical documentation when applicable.
  • Disclosure of any relevant preprint or overlapping publication.
  • An AI use disclosure when required under the journal's AI Tools Usage Policy.

Authors may suggest up to two potential reviewers with appropriate subject expertise and verifiable institutional contact information. Suggested reviewers must be independent of the authors and must not have relationships that could create a material conflict of interest. IJASCE is not obligated to invite author-suggested reviewers, and reviewer selection remains the responsibility of the editor.

8. Peer Review and Editorial Decision

Manuscripts that pass initial editorial screening normally undergo single-anonymous peer review by at least two independent external reviewers. Reviewer identities remain confidential to the authors, while reviewers have access to author identities.

Reviewers provide expert advice to the editor. Their recommendations do not constitute the final editorial decision. The responsible editor evaluates the manuscript, reviewer reports, author responses, applicable journal policies, and other relevant evidence before reaching a decision.

Editorial decisions may include Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. When revision is requested, the decision letter will specify the applicable revision deadline. Authors must submit a revised manuscript together with a point-by-point response explaining how each editorial and reviewer comment has been addressed or providing a reasoned scholarly justification when a recommendation has not been followed.

Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers, evaluated by the editor, or sent for additional review when necessary. Favorable reviewer recommendations do not guarantee publication.

9. Article Processing Charges and Publication Fees

IJASCE does not charge article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, page charges, or publication fees. Authors are not required to make payment as a condition of submission, peer review, acceptance, or publication. Published articles are made openly available in accordance with the journal's Open Access Policy.

10. Publication Ethics

IJASCE follows the COPE Core Practices and applies its publication ethics policies throughout submission, peer review, publication, and post-publication assessment.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • the submitted work is original and accurately reported;
  • all individuals listed as authors meet the journal's authorship criteria and all qualifying contributors are appropriately recognized;
  • all relevant competing interests and funding sources are disclosed;
  • required ethical approval, informed consent, consent for publication, or other research oversight requirements have been satisfied;
  • data, images, code, and other research materials are accurately represented and have not been fabricated, falsified, or inappropriately manipulated;
  • sources are cited accurately and appropriately;
  • copyrighted material is used with appropriate authorization when required;
  • potentially overlapping publications and relevant preprints are disclosed;
  • the manuscript is not simultaneously submitted to another journal; and
  • the use of AI tools complies with the journal's AI Tools Usage Policy.
