Open Access Policy

1. Introduction

The International Journal of Advanced Science Computing and Engineering (IJASCE) is committed to immediate and equitable open access to scholarly knowledge. The journal supports the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and recognizes the importance of open access in improving the accessibility, usability, visibility, and dissemination of research.

All IJASCE content is made freely available online immediately upon publication without subscription charges, paywalls, or embargo periods. Readers may access published content without payment or registration.

2. Scope

This policy applies to content published by IJASCE. It describes the journal's approach to reader access, open licensing, copyright, reuse, author self-archiving, and publication charges.

Third-party material included within an article may be subject to different copyright or licensing conditions when this is explicitly indicated in the published work.

3. Open Access Policy

IJASCE provides immediate open access to its published content. The full text of published articles is available online without subscription or access charges.

  • Readers may read and download published articles without payment or registration.

  • Articles may be shared, reused, and adapted in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license.

  • No embargo period is imposed on access to the Version of Record published by IJASCE.

3.1 Creative Commons License

Unless otherwise clearly indicated for specific third-party material, IJASCE publishes its articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license, users may:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.

These permissions are subject to the terms of the license. Users must provide appropriate attribution, provide a link to the license, indicate whether changes were made, and must not imply endorsement by the authors or IJASCE. When adapted material is shared, the adaptation must be distributed under the same license or another license permitted under the CC BY-SA 4.0 terms.

The applicable Creative Commons license should be identified on the published article and its full-text version so that readers can readily determine the conditions governing reuse.

3.2 Copyright

Authors retain copyright in their articles. By publishing with IJASCE, authors grant the journal the non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, preserve, and identify the published article as the Version of Record and to make it available under the journal's applicable open access license.

Application of a Creative Commons license does not transfer copyright ownership from the authors. Instead, the license grants the public specified permissions to reuse the work subject to the conditions of that license.

The copyright holder and applicable licensing information should be clearly identified in the published article, including its HTML and PDF versions where applicable.

3.3 Author Self-Archiving

IJASCE supports author self-archiving in accordance with the journal's Repository and Self-Archiving Policy. Authors may deposit permitted versions of their work in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal academic websites, or other appropriate scholarly repositories in accordance with the applicable copyright and licensing conditions.

When depositing the published Version of Record, authors should provide the complete citation and DOI and link to the version published by IJASCE.

Authors who have previously posted a permitted preprint should, where possible, update the preprint record after journal publication by adding the citation and DOI of the Version of Record.

3.4 Digital Preservation

Open access and digital preservation are related but distinct responsibilities. IJASCE aims to maintain continued access to its published scholarly record and will describe its electronic backup and long-term digital preservation arrangements transparently.

The journal will identify the preservation service, repository, or other preservation mechanism actually used for maintaining access to published content. IJASCE will not claim participation in a preservation service unless that service is actively implemented for the journal.

3.5 Diamond Open Access and Publication Fees

IJASCE operates under a diamond open access model. The journal does not charge authors article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, peer review fees, page charges, or publication fees.

Readers are not charged subscription or access fees to read published IJASCE content. The absence of author or reader fees does not influence manuscript assessment, peer review, or editorial decision-making.

4. Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights and permissions for all material included in their manuscripts. Authors must appropriately acknowledge previously published or third-party material and obtain permission when required.

Readers and other users may reuse IJASCE content within the permissions granted by the applicable Creative Commons license and must comply with its attribution and ShareAlike requirements.

Editors and the publisher are responsible for clearly communicating access, copyright, licensing, fees, and reuse conditions and for ensuring that these policies remain separate from editorial decisions.

This policy was reviewed in September 2026. IJASCE will review the policy periodically and revise it when necessary to reflect changes in the journal's publishing practices, open access standards, licensing arrangements, and digital preservation infrastructure.
